Mt Ida is a high grade underground deposit located 200 km north-west of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, 125 km from the Davyhurst Processing Plant.

The Timoni / Baldock lodes system is a series of mineralised shear zones within an anorthosite gabbro unit on the western flank of the Kurrajong Anticline.

The mineralised shears are range approximately 0.75 – 2 metres in width. The Gold mineralisation is associated with quartz veining and biotite chlorite shearing. There is also a strong association between gold and copper mineralisation within the shoots.

Average grade of the lodes is approximately 17 g/t Au. Estimates of the copper grade are difficult as the majority of the drilling used in the resource calculation was not assayed for copper; previous operates used an estimate of 1.25 % copper.

The last JORC (2004) resource estimate  for the project was compiled in 2008 based on past ASX releases and reports. The estimated was released in the Swan Gold Mining Limited 2013 prospectus released 13th February 2013 .

The table below summarises the cumulative gold production from the project based on the available records;

Within the Mt Ida project the company has defined a number of advanced gold targets including:

Bombay: The anomaly has a strike of approximately 3500 m defined by irregular auger geochemistry, and RAB.  There appears to be immediate potential to define a supergene resource within the prospect and targeted deeper drilling may intersect higher grade bedrock shoots.

Kestral South: The anomaly straddles a number of tenements and comprises of a series of gold in auger soil anomalies along a strike of approximately 8 kilometres . There does not appear to have been any significant drill testing of the anomalies. The company intends to RAB drill test the existing anomalies to define targets for RC drilling.

Pianto’s Find: The target is a 5500 m long auger geochemical anomaly with limited RAB drilling within a sequence of sheared mafic to intermediate volcanics. The company plans to complete systematic RAB drilling across the anomaly to define targets for RC drilling.
